This presentation looks at regions in the world where people live much longer than average life expectancy indices. These areas are known as “Blue Zones.” This term first appeared in the 2005 November National Geographic magazine in which explorer, educator, author, and producer, Dan Buettner proposed that this phenomenon is no accident. In his article, “The Secrets of a Long Life,” Buettner offers an explanation, based on empirical data and first hand observations, as to why these populations live healthier and longer lives.
