Founded as Senior Friendship Centers, Inc. in 1973 by Brother William Geenen, CSC, to help older adults in Southwest Florida live with dignity and independence. He founded the non-profit from the ground up with the support of the community who believed in the mission of supporting health, dignity and the quality of life throughout the journey of aging.
Starting with small activity centers and a dining program, the operation quickly grew to include; licensed adult day service, home delivered meals, in-home support, medical and dental clinics. It was Brother Geenen’s vision to use retired physicians to serve the medical and dental needs of older adults as part of the comprehensive services of the Centers.
